In the article by Nestler and colleagues (2017), the researchers systematically searched six databases for publications on randomized controlled trials highlighting strength training among women aged 18-65 and assessed training effects. The studies showed a significant increase in strength and reduced pain, but there were mixed results when considering the body composition, body weight, and subjective well-being. There was increased strength and improved pain management when there was strength training, even in low intensity and brief training in physically active and sedentary women.
