The North American tourism circuit faces unique challenges as compared to the rest of the world. This is because, unlike many other nations in Africa, Asia or Europe, the countries in North America have federal governments that have allowed various geographical and political regions to operate independently of the national government. These are states and provinces that can market their own tourism around the globe on their own via the internet. However, in as much as they are independent, the states tend to operate in a similar manner, but this is not always true in it`s entirety in as much as in North America, trade is governed by one body, the North America Free Trade Association which seeks to ensure a free and sound market within the states.
