This is annotated bibliography of the sources about LGBTIQ discrimination in Australia. The four annotated sources support the thesis that LGBTIQ youths in Australia are still being discriminated against in real life/school.

This journal presents the findings of the study on the impacts of LGBT discrimination on youths' mental health. According to this article, young people experience numerous challenges in adolescence. The challenges include depression, depression, and suicide. These challenges are a contribution by discrimination due to their sex type. Most youth known to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, or Intersex usually face many more difficulties related to discrimination than heterosexuals. Most schools, families, and communities have increased levels of discrimination and victimization of LGBTIQ youth. Consequently, the victims suffer from the mental health risk factors of rejection. The authors state a need for a supportive network to help these youths commit suicide. This article is relevant and valuable for the topic of study since it shows how LGBTIQ youths are discriminated against in Austria. The article also provides insights on the impact discrimination causes to this group. It indicates that LGBTIQ youths in Australia are still being discriminated against in real life/school. This calls for immediate measures to save the youths from more mental harm.

Mackay, in this source, presents the challenges LGTBTIQ+ children and young people experience. They are affected by stigma and discrimination, which leads to mental problems. Mackay calls for concerned organizations in Australia to ensure safety for these people. Recent findings from the Australian Productivity Commission on Mental Health reveals that mental health outcomes among LGBTIQ+ youths in various communities result from stigma, discrimination, social exclusion, stereotyping, harassment, homophobia, and ostracizing. According to LGBTIQ + Health Australia, LGBTIQ individuals aged 16-27 years are five times more likely to commit suicide than other people in the general population. Transgender people aged 18 and above are 11 times more likely to commit suicide. Also, it is found that those with an intersex variation aged 16 and above years are about six times more likely to commit suicide. This information shows an accurate picture of the level of discrimination and Violence LGBTIQ youths face. The worrying mental health outcomes for these people are related to discrimination, abuse, and stigma they experience in different situations.
