Compositional Characteristics of Schubert’s Art Songs
Franz Schubert, an Austrian musical composer of the early Romantic eras and late Classical, is widely recognized for his harmonic and melodic invention in his art songs. He also ventured into the instrumental works that nurtured the Romantic traditions. Despite his short lifetime, Schubert came up with numerous secular vocal works, Completed symphonies, operas, sacred music, and so much more. As a result, the scope of this bibliography is based on developing the compositional characteristics of Schubert's art songs in relation to Schumann's "new journal for music" on the influence of the European Romantic period. Also, over 20 sources will be used to explore how Schubert's art songs were developed and how they contributed to the analysis of Schubert’s art songs.
