Ng, P. Y., Wood, B. P., & Bastian, B. L. (2022). Reformulating the empowerment process through women entrepreneurship in a collective context. International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, 28(9), 154-176. https://doi.org/10.1108/IJEBR-06-2021-0479
The paper is tailored to develop a sound framework based on empirical evidence to examine the relationship between women's empowerment and entrepreneurial spirit with the collective society archetype. Semi-structured interviews were used for data collection. The main idea is that entrepreneurship constitutes a fundamental construct toward achieving the holistic development of communities. This is congruent with the Arab Gulf region's commitment to promote entrepreneurship and thus achieve gender-equal societies. This source is relevant to my research because it makes crucial theoretical contributions. First, it contributes to understanding the value of women's entrepreneurial experiences on empowerment by evaluating the elements and processes of entrepreneurship. Second, the research refines the empowerment process framework central to examining the subject matter in a collective context. Lastly, the research offered an original contribution to entrepreneurism by developing a collective empowerment process model based on the psychology model. This offered new insight into empowerment, creating new explanations of the women's experiences in empowerment and spurring social change. This article is considered scholarly, peer-reviewed and incorporates key elements of a research paper, including abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, results, and discussion.
