I am an innovative and solution-driven computer engineering student. With the advancement in information technology tools and solutions, the potential for cyber-security vulnerabilities continues to rise. As a computer engineer, I would be confidently prepared to identify and thwart cyber-security vulnerabilities by creating, appraising, and inspecting different software in organizations. I will also play a central role in upgrading different hardware, including motherboards and routers. Cyber-security breaches and vulnerabilities are associated with increased costs for companies and community stakeholders who use vast sums of money in post-recovery measures, including restoring reputational damage. Despite my commitment to positively impacting society, my dream will likely be undermined by my family’s poor socioeconomic status. In this context, the grant will not only empower me with an opportunity to impact my community positively but also allow me to advance my studies and achieve my career vision. Nevertheless, I am sure that if I fail to achieve a college degree, it will be infeasible to achieve my career goals.
I choose to work as a computer engineer because the career opportunity affords me a pathway to explore my passions, solve problems, and generate creative experiences. I can generate ideas using code to solve user-specific challenges, ideate potential solutions, and effectively implement them.
