2.2.1. Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria
To conduct a thorough literature review, it will be necessary to search for sources that report nurse burnout as a problem and discuss strategies to combat burnout. Several studies were carefully chosen for evaluation based on the inclusion and exclusion factors. The studies were classified by relevance to the topic, such as specific, grouping, and managerial. Sources that address the prevention of burnout and strategies to reduce nursing burnout will be essential. To obtain the statistics, several formerly chosen suitability measures were examined: (1) findings that achieved the topic of the study; (2) available in English; (3) in the period from 2018 to 2022; (4) every method utilized to evaluate burnout before and after interventions. The search criteria time frame between 2018 and 2022 was chosen to cover better opportunities for analysis on the prevention and reduction of burnout and health promotion in nurses. The research period will be reasonable because, even though the classification of burnout syndrome appeared in the 1970s, analyses on this topic increased after 1994.
The inclusion criteria will be established to ensure publications are relevant. Only studies published within the last five years, materials that explicitly report on the effect of burnout on nurses and the impact on the quality of care, and studies completed in the U.S. that mention burnout, nurse burnout, or burnout syndrome, will be included.
