Bright Sun Mansion Critique/Reflection The Film Bright Sun Mansion revolves around Yulin Fang. He was a professional Peking Opera actor back in his home country, but in the United States, he works as a nail artist in a Salon. He reminisces about his days as an Opera actor and he was able to formulate the idea of bringing his talent and a bunch of capable people to perform in their area in America. As an old man, Yulin Fang wants to share his talents and his direction to the young Chinese people in the field of the Peking Opera. The Film is able to ignite the interest toward Chinese Culture through an ancient traditional performance by featuring awesome characters in costumes that had epic movements based in Chinese martial arts. Yulin Fang through his younger years, devoted a lot of his time and attention the Peking Opera. Now that he is 66 years old, he wanted to arrange a presentation which hired young men and a production team as his last performance. He adapted the opera from his experiences and the classic presentation, and he imbues his performance with both tradition and innovation. Mr Fang dedicates his remaining time and effort in creating the expression of traditional Chinese Opera by sharing his performing experience with other people. His will and intention was to utilize his last years in training others in this field that he loves so much. As the film progresses, we are able to see an integrated performance that feature Mr Fang’s talent together with youth that had the same interest and experience in the field of the Peking Opera.
