The system of government in Cuba is socialist, and it was formed in the year 1959. The political system is directed by the principle of one party one state (Sullivan 5). The constitution of Cuba describes the Communist Party of Cuba as the leading force of the state and society. The top secretary of the communist party serves as the president of the state, and the prime minister is also elected from the party and he is the president of all ministers of the council.
The president of the state and the council of ministers are both elected by the people's power national assembly.
