Living in American West has been coupled with several challenges but determination and courage has made it possible for me to survive in the war prone region. Besides being a peace chief and a spiritual leader, I was involved in a direct battle with the U.S army for the sake of my people. My houses were strategized in a small village that remained invisible for a long time before Custer started the attacks.
I worked with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show for quite some time before returning to Standing Rock Agency located South Dakota. My relationship with the Indian service worsened after realizing that the trade-ship was self-centred (Egan, 2011, p. 566). I realized that their agenda would demolish my work as well as creating trouble to my people.
