Japanese Americans in the American West
Dorothea’s Lange images of Depression-era America are one of the most seen photographs of the twentieth century. Through these photographs the plight of the share crappers, the displaced farmers and the migrant farmers can be compared and contrasted for different groups of people at that time (Linda, 56). From Dorothea’s photographs it is clear that there is a difference in the way the Native Americans understood the plight of the poor people in their society.
The Native Americans did not take such work important just the way any form of work was taken with high esteem by the Japanese Americans. It is clear from this book that photography was not taken serious by the Native Americans and thus after the depression the Native Americans would understand the plight of the Japanese Americans and hence took such work serious (Linda, 59).
