Addiction takes longer time to get over it especially when people do not have the right guidance to get over the addiction. From what I underwent as I struggled to leave consumption of coffee, it gave me a true picture of what addicts undergo as they try to leave an addictive substance. From this, I was able to learn that addiction controls individual moods and character. This is because as I tried to give up on coffee at early stages, it was very chaotic with my friends within the same program. Coffee influenced my well-being within the society. From this experience, I realized that it is not easy to get rid of an addiction, especially when living within the members of society or family who are daily users of the same addictive substance. These types of experiences are very common within the society (Nhs.uk., 2016). After I had gone through this experience I was able to handle my colleagues who were addicts and guided them on how they can quit on their addictive substance. Prolonged experience in the addiction termination programs equips individuals well and fully to handle such cases. Moreover, expository to the experiences gives the individuals more skills which can be practiced within the society. If the time for my experience on coffee addiction elimination would have continued for a longer period, I could be more equipped to handle other addicts effectively.
