One incident I will never forget is seeing my best friend writhe in so much pain after being run over by a car we had not seen coming. I was only eight at that time when my friend and I were riding our bikes from school. It was all fun until she was lying on the ground calling for help, which I could not offer her. At this point, I convinced myself that I have to become a nurse to protect those I love. Then, I had very little knowledge about what this would entail. This tragedy was a life-changing moment for me, whose dream before was to become a lawyer. With the support of my family, friends, and teachers, the journey to becoming a caregiver has been one with lots of learning.
