The Shakespearean tragedies for this week, "The Tragedy of Othello" and "The Tragedy of Macbeth," are very interesting to watch. Each of these productions has different characteristics that make them more entertaining than just reading the texts. While the text might feel boring to read after several instances, the performance is more entertaining, especially when the directors make modifications. Directors are involved in using the original text and bringing it to life. It means that they can choose to reinterpret the text differently (Gray, 2018). The directors influence how the story is told and make the audience empathize with the actors. For instance, "The Tragedy of Othello" and "The Tragedy of Macbeth" are both plays that end in death (Gray, 2018).
