Technology has had massive impacts on the daily life processes. It is one of the most influential and evolutionary aspects and one that has impacted every area. Although there are quite some positive impacts that technology has brought on board, this paper establishes some of the areas where technology has had negative impacts. One of the impacts that has largely been felt is that on air quality. With the advent of air transport, road transport and industrial production systems air quality has been largely affected (Epa.gov, 2016). These processes among others such as agriculture have led to the pollution of air through the release of hazardous fumes and particulate matter to the air. Although they are generally developments associated with technology breakthroughs they have also led to massive pollution of the air.
Technology has also had some negative impacts on the water quality with a wide scale of effects. With the advent of chemicals such as fertilizers, detergents, insecticide, petroleum hydrocarbons, food processing chemicals and industrial chemicals, all of these are then disposed of in the water systems such as rivers, oceans, ground water and lakes among others. When these chemicals come in contact with the water and other chemical elements in the water, they form hazardous compounds. This then affect the flora and fauna in the ecosystem. Further technology has also had impacts on the land quality. As pollution generates massive piles of waste, most of it is them buried away in the landfills.
