Dissemination strategy
Disseminating information related to workplace violence in the health sector is the active and targeted distribution of information through determined channels using planned procedures to a particular public health audience which in this case is the nurses (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, 2013). Dissemination is a necessary antecedent of adoption and implementation even though it is not sufficient. Unlike diffusion which is a passive informal process, dissemination spreads knowledge and associated evidence-based interventions with the purpose of stimulating adoption and enhancing the integration of the evidence, information, intervention or combination of these into a routine practice. The strategy will aim at the following:
Increase reach to a variety of audience
The strategy will strive to distribute information on a broad scale to nurses in different sections of the hospital. That implies the distribution will target nurses in both inpatient and outpatient sections since both have experienced violence of various types. To achieve that many settings will be used in the dissemination process. First of all, postal and electronic mails will be used. Many nurses have official postal addresses that they use to receive communication from outside the organization. Moreover due to the advancement in technology many nurses are shifting to the use of email address where they can get communication instantly (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, 2013). All these addresses will be used to communicate the results of the project to the nursing community so that they can know what to do to eliminate violence in their working environment.
The strategy will also employ the use of electronic and digital media. Since many people are using smartphone technology that support access to social media like Facebook and Twitter, it will be easy for the many nurses to obtain the results of the project via social media.
