Work Culture: Watching The Organizational Culture Video

Coursework Instructions:

Have you ever accepted a job and realized that you were not a good fit? The culture of the company was not in line with your values or beliefs. See the definition below.
Organizational culture is a system of shared assumptions, values, and beliefs, which governs how people behave in organizations. These shared values have a strong influence on the people in the organization and dictate how they dress, act, and perform their jobs.
In light of everything happening in the country and the world, company culture plays a significant impact on employees lives. In April 2017 United Airlines forcibly removed a passenger from one of their planes. It began a conversation on how employees treated customers and expectations from management. Two years ago, there was a tragic shooting in Florida where 17 people lost their lives, and many others were injured. The debate on gun control continues, making some corporation look within themselves to reflect on what their management and employees are stating as acceptable culture and beliefs.
Dick Sporting Goods made a loud and clear statement regarding their culture and creating an environment that reflected their views and beliefs.

After reading these two articles that are very relevant to the culture in the workplace, discuss your thoughts on the articles (not necessarily gun on control, that is not what this forum is about). Also consider what type of culture you are experiencing at your internship, whether it is the correct "fit " for you based on your values, work ethic, work style, etc.
I am still leaving my original discussion below if you want to watch the videos, the first one is a great one. I am also providing a video about the culture at the Container Store, I think it is brilliant and the way others should think about building a community within a company. What do you think about the culture at the Container Store? The others are very informative and interesting for you to see the different experiences of the CEO's and top management.
Have a great conversation.

After watching the Organizational Culture video, I got to realize that it is important to develop strong mutual respect between employees and leaders (Sussman-Silverman, 2017). Luckily, at The Container Store, everyone works for the betterment of the company and it is ensured that employees feel respected and valued. Rewards are given for their great work, which is a plus point since it encourages workers to perform better and better. The culture or work environment of The Container Store is employee-friendly, with no burden of working for extra hours or overnight.
