Book Report: The Only Woman in the Room
Hedy Lamarr was a very beautiful woman. Besides possessing stunning beauty, she also had a stunning mind. Her stunning beauty almost saved her from the rising Nazi party and led her to be married to an Austrian arms dealer. Lamarr was underestimated in everything she did. One time when she overheard the Third Reich's plan, she understood more than anyone thought she would (Benedict, 2018). She devised a plan to escape without anyone seeing her, and her escape landed her in Hollywood. Her escape enabled her to become Hedy Lamarr, the screen star.
Nobody knew about where she came from or her marriage. Most importantly, nobody knew Lamarr was a scientist. She also kept a few secrets about the enemy. If anyone bothered to listen to her, she had an idea about how the country could fight the Nazis. The Only Woman in the Room is a powerful novel based on the true story of the beauty icon and scientists whose invention enabled the creation of modern communication.
Marie Benedict's book The Only Woman in the Room portrays a woman of stunning beauty and mind.
