Partial Checklist for Annotated Bibliography
Listed here is a list of some of the elements to check before you hand in your project. All notes on Blackboard that pertain to this project should be reviewed, including grammar issues. Check my example annotated bibliography in order to visualize the structure.

2. Use diverse sources
3. One paragraph per source--answer the four questions in the order they are presented. Do NOT number the answers--write one paragraph response for each source.
4. MLA Citation-correct forms -- Purdue OWL- stay away from the automatic MLA creator at the top of the page
5. Title - avoid the title: Annotated Bibliography
6. Avoid "I statements" use third person pronouns - please do not involve me as the reader - so do not use "you" or "we" or "us"
7. No in-text citations
8. Avoid slang and cliche and abbreviations -etc. -NO! avoid backslashes winter/spring avoid "it is a great read" avoid "it is a great see"
9. Question 4 is answered-recommendation or not - do not get lost in that process and start summarizing
10. NO ESSAY INVOLVED-Do NOT write an essay or research paper
11. No cover sheet - just your name at the top

NOT APPROVED SOURCES:
Blogs of any kind, popular culture websites (Rotten Tomatoes, for example), and material of a sexual nature, encyclopedias, dictionaries, books and short stories read for credit in our course, and most YouTube items may not be used. A YouTube source must have proof that it is legitimate in terms of copyright and is also from a credible source. Performance material on YouTube like films, TV shows, personal messages and music are not allowed.


 


Each student will complete and submit a seven-item annotated bibliography, composed and organized according to Modern Language Association style, 8th edition. This project is designed to allow you to select a topic from a list of suggested choices. Your decision is due to me on Wednesday, October 2. You will research seven separate sources and compose an annotated bibliography that could be used by a researcher or other interested party who wishes to use your recommendations to study the topic. Please read all requirements and restrictions posted on this site.
Some definitions:
#1 Abstract - a summary in paragraph style of a source. The abstract is composed of a bibliographic reference (in your case, the source information written in MLA style) and a paragraph that explains the item and how it relates to your topic. Each paragraph will respond to four questions:
Sentence 1 -- Who is the creator of the source--what are the creator's qualifications? (for a film--the director)
Sentence 2 -- What is the author’s purpose or thesis?
Sentence 3 --What new idea or fact did you learn from the source?
Sentence 4 - Would you recommend the source to a researcher studying your topic?

The Concept of Minimalism in Modern Interior Design
Introduction
Human civilization has evolved significantly over the years. Modern human ways of life, including culture, traditions, religion, food, art, and architecture, are different from those of the previous century. Through innovation, people have developed ways of gaining the most from their daily life activities. For example, it is the wish and dream of everybody to be able to come home and feel relaxed and comfortable after the day's activities. However, people develop anxiety and feel more stressed due to untidiness, disorganization, and dirt in their rooms. Various studies link untidy and disorganized homes with increased chances of developing depression symptoms and even make one ill. A home should be the most convenient place to relax and recover from the whirls of the outside world. Also, the feeling of relaxation in a room highly depends on its lighting, space, and design. Modern architecture has adopted the concept of minimalist interior design that uses simple, peaceful and orderly spatial room arrangements to create a relaxing environment. The minimalist interior design creates a sense of clarity and richness of simplicity in a room through reduced clutter and interior simplification.
Annotated bibliography
The concept of minimalist interior design is still young, but there are several studies about its origin, application, and implications in modern and future architecture. The following articles provide ideal information that is useful in developing a better understanding of minimalism in interior designing.

The authors of the article are Yancho Genchev (PhD. Furniture Production) and Maria Kokorska (PhD. Interior and Furniture Design), from the University of Forestry, Bulgaria. They all have skills and expertise in designing and design theory in production and interior designing. Their study investigates the trends in home furnishing over the past few years as well as identify the characteristics of modern interior and furniture design. According to the article, the minimalist trend in art and architecture emerged during the late 1990s and early 2000s as characterized by a tendency towards simplified living space and forms. The concept of minimalism was later adopted in interior designing. Typical features of minimalist interior design identified by the author include the use of basic geometric shapes, lack of detail, large spaces, wood and natural textures, and achromatic colors. The details of the article essential in identifying the historic transformations in interior designing as well as the characteristics, impact, and future of the minimalist interior design.
