What Is The Impact Of Technology In The American Workforce?
* Paragraph One
Introduction
Hook: At the beginning of the industrial revolution era, people had varied perspectives about the impact that such changes would have on society. Today, the industrial revolution is one of the factors that have played a major role in economic growth. The case of technology also presents similar sentiments where some people consider it harmful to the workforce while others consider it helpful.
Problem Identification: The problems about technological advancements in the American workforce are evident in the labor market due to the possibilities of people losing jobs to automation, lack of skills to handle IT-related jobs, and overreliance on technology which reduces productivity. Technology has also facilitated innovations that create new jobs opportunities that require advanced IT-related skills. Therefore, the impact of technology on the American workforce remains diverse. Given that technology will keep on advancing, its impact on the workforce will also continue to change.
Thesis Statement: Technology has created problems in the American workforce such as the replacement of workers by machines, changing the skills needed by people to secure certain jobs, and reducing productivity due to the overreliance on technology
* Paragraph Two
Topic Sentence: Technology is has resulted in a substantial amount of job loss as some of the job tasks no longer need manpower but are rather carried out by machines.
Evidence: An approximation of 400000 jobs in the American industry was lost to automation from the year 1990 to 2007 (McClure, 2018). Since then, technology has advanced at a very high rate and therefore, more jobs continue to be lost to technology.

Therefore, the profits made would be less than the profits made through task automation.
Qualifier: Such is not always the case because some of the automation systems are costly to implement and maintain. In such a case, it would be less costly to use such technologies than hiring human beings.
Summative Sentence: The overall impact of technological advancements on the American workforce is that it eliminates jobs through task automation. Such requires people to develop skills regarding the digital world to remain relevant in the job market.
