Include an APPENDIX containing the abstracts from the 5 peer-reviewed journal articles identified in your reference page. In addition to your title page, reference page and appendix, the proposal will be a maximum of 2 page in length. Please remember this is a Visual Arts paper and so Visual Arts PEDAGOGY is the focus. Note that Art Therapy is a professional direction that is NOT covered in the scope of this paper.

Introduction
Pedagogy is all about understanding how skills and knowledge are exchanged in an educational context. Pedagogies differ greatly, depending on their various political, social and cultural contexts from which they emerge. A significant number of theories of pedagogy help understand how students act as an agent and teachers work as a facilitator. The way human beings learn different things or acquire knowledge has been a mystery of understanding for many years. In the early years of life, a child’s brain develops in a plethora of ways, and this is why he can learn new things quickly and efficiently. A large number of factor contribute to the cognitive development of young children, and many theorists have attempted to come up with satisfactory information regarding how learning and educational development take place. Two of the most reliable and popular theories proposed in this regard are of Vygotsky and Piaget.
Vygotsky was of the view that social interactions drive cognitive development and creativity. According to Piaget, a child’s cognitive development and creative skills are associated with his inbuilt tendency to adapt to changes and new experiences. Between the works of Lev Vygotsky and Jean Piaget, a broad understanding of the human brain, cognitive development, and learning philosophies have emerged in order to help understand and formulate the most effective and useful teaching methods and practices. The purpose of this paper is to identify the similarities and differences between Vygotsky and Piaget's theories of creativity and cognitive development of young children.

It is interesting to know that both Lev Vygotsky and Jean Piaget were born at the same time, and the only differences were their lifespan, their sources of motivations and their socio-cultural backgrounds. They had their viewpoints and perceptions of child development.
