Communication is an essential aspect of the lives of people. The level of communication among people matters since organizations, communities, and individuals that communicate effectively have an advantage over the ones that do not communicate well. The Greek began the study of communication and advocated that people are decision makers, hence can affect their community, environment and personal fortunes and significantly help each other through efficient communication. The Greek researchers agreed to a democratic ideology that all citizens in a nation should ensure they learn to speak and have influence. It led to the development of media and journalism and the relationship to influence. The talk by David Puttnam elaborates the level of influence that media has and the relationship to integrity. The media and journalists are required to uphold integrity. However, its manipulation due to elements such as political influence and money leads loss of trust in the media.
