For the Accessibility Paper, I chose Kendall Soccer Park (Kendall Drive), Miami Florida. My survey has been done and I have only positive to say about it.

As for the country I wish to improve the disability, would be Haiti.
The purpose of this project is to provide students an opportunity to apply their knowledge about inclusion and accessibility. Students will complete a physical and programmatic accessibility survey (the ADA Checklist for Readily Achievable Barrier Removal) of a recreation, leisure or sport based facility (e.g. park, community center, museum, resort, stadium, etc.).
Please Note. For parts b and c (barriers and recommendations to improve upon the barrier), you will need to indicate where in the Americans with Disabilities Standards for Accessible Design (i.e. the standard # in the checklist) the barrier/recommendation is discussed.
You must organize your paper using the following headings a-d (APA style):
a. Advantages: (4 points)
Describe those aspects from your survey of the recreation setting (physical and programmatic), that have been made accessible and would provide opportunities for inclusive recreation participation. Make sure to include the summary of the positive/accessible areas from each priority of your completed checklist.
b. Barriers: (4 points)
Describe the physical and programmatic barriers that are present that would inhibit or limit participation by people with disabilities. Identify people with disabilities who may be influenced by these barriers, and how they would be influenced. Make sure to include the summary of the inaccessible areas and the Standard # in that area from each priority of your completed checklist.
c. Accessibility Recommendations: (5 points)
Provide a list of specific recommendations for how the agency could improve accessibility based on the barriers you found. Again, using the Standard #, designate which of your recommendations should be implemented to be in compliance with the law. Also, indicate which of your recommendations, although not legally required, would be in keeping with the spirit of the law (see Chapter 9), and would reflect a general commitment to inclusive recreation participation

Inclusive Leisure Services
In the past two decades, there has been an increase in the visibility of the persons living with disability in the mainstream society. This is as a result of the enactment of laws that protect the rights of people living with disabilities in various nations across the globe. Besides the enactment of the above laws, buildings and other structures have been designed in a way that factors in the needs of this group of persons hence making it possible for them to access these buildings with much ease. Bedini & Bedini (2002) argue that, despite the fact that there have been changes both in laws and building structures that allows them to access recreational services just like normal people do, there are still rampant cases of barriers to social inclusion. One of the countries that have not done quite well in the protection of the rights of persons living with disabilities is Haiti. It is important to note that, persons living with disabilities have got the same rights to inclusion to leisure services.
This paper explores availability of different programs for leisure at Kendall Soccer Park (Kendall Drive), Miami Florida, inclusive leisure services accessibility and the situation of persons living with disability in Haiti.
Kendall Soccer Park (Kendall Drive), Miami Florida
The management of Miami Kendall Soccer Park has ensured that their programs, events and facilities are accessible to everyone including persons living with disabilities. Their staffs are properly trained in the best way for handling persons with disabilities. For instance, they have staffs that are skilled in sign interpretation to assist the persons with disabilities. They have also facilities and programs that are specifically designed for children and persons living with disabilities and which are managed by professionally trained therapeutic recreation specialists. It is also important to note that at Kendall Soccer Park, assistance is accorded to adults and children living with disabilities to access those facilities that are not specifically geared towards persons with disabilities. This has ensured that these groups of individuals are included in the recreational services like everyone else (Acemoglu & Angrist, 2001).
Barriers to Inclusive Leisure Services
The best way to improve access to inclusive leisure services is by first finding out the barriers that hinder persons living with disabilities from accessing those services and then look for solutions to those barriers. There are a couple of notable barriers that have hindered persons with disability to inclusive leisure or recreation services and these include; - Attitudinal barriers, there are some people with bad attitudes towards these individuals because of their conditions and therefore they believe that there should be set aside recreation facilities that are only meant for invalid persons, in other words they do not want to mix with them. Another barrier to inclusive leisure services is Architectural Barriers; these barriers are related to physical accessibility of the leisure program by invalid persons. For instance, if the place is lacking basic facilities like automatic door openers, communication devices, ramps and elevators, then this could be a clear indication that persons with disabilities are not welcome there. The other barrier that normally hinders invalid persons from accessing the leisure services as others do is programmatic barrier. This type of barriers includes policies and rules that have been set by the program restricting persons with disabilities. It is important to note that rules and regulations may hinder persons living with disabilities from accessing some of these recreation services.
