Changes faced in the Confucius traditions.
Confucianism is among the highly effective belief systems in Far East Asia's history, concerned with the inner virtues, moral values, and respect for human beings. The Confucius school of thought has laid the basis for much of the Chinese traditions and culture for over two millennia. Initiated by Confucius in the 5th – 6th Century B.C.E., it is even viewed as a state doctrine in the feudal society (Ames & Henry, 1998). The Confucius philosophy is the substance of learning in nearly all aspects of China, including their economy, psychology, political, social code, et cetera. This movement is also the source of values to other cultures, such as Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and other territories such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. Confucianism has seen remarkable metamorphosis since its inception, way back in the 5TH - 6TH century B.C.E. up to the 21st century A.D. (Li, 2010). Nearly all the local schools teaching Chinese philosophy trace their origins to the 4th – 2nd century B.C., in the era of the Qin dynasty. Traditional Confucian moral values have shaped the Chinese culture and life for over 2000 years, serving as the source of inspiration and the appellate court for human interaction among individuals, communities, and nations. However, these traditions have faced various transformations over time up to the 21st century. This paper will look at the various transformations the Confucius tradition has faced through the ages.[, Confucius is among the most prominent figures in the history of China. A poor noble of unworthy ancestry, Confucius made a name for himself as China's first renowned teacher. Ch.7.p45]
Classical era
The classical epoch begins around the Xia, Shang, and Zhou kingdoms, in the ages of the famous Warring States scholars in 1700 – 221 BC. Master Kong (Confucius) stipulates an even long and distinct tradition of sage wisdom stretching before the Xia and Shang dynasties. During this era, Confucius sought to edit and administer his valuable collection of texts to his disciples, believing that such an educational undertaking would lead to a new cultural flourishing in the aspect of being humane, as indicated on the sage 'kings' teachings ministers.' Renowned Confucian masters followed Master Kong, including Meng Zi Moreover, Xun Zi. These masters were ideally influential in the Confucian way arguments, instrumental in confronting other great schools' methods, and attacking philosophers of the Warring States era (Shen, 2013). It is Master Kong's Analects, also known as the Lunyu' Selected sayings', that have influenced the discovery of wisdom in the Confucian way.[. Confucius thinks of himself as a "transmitter" and not a "creator," his teachings being the foundations for the dominant philosophical tradition in pre-modern China. Ch.7.p45] [The Master said, "I do not open up [knowledge] to those who are not desperate for 1t; I do not disclose anything to those who are not anxious to speak. I begin with one corner; if [a student] cannot return with the other three corners, I do not repeat myself.'' (7.18)Ch.7.p45] [(Mencius) (371-289 B.C.E.), the second greatest scholar...
