Clarifications and Additional Instructions on Assignment #3
• This project is intended to be a plan or proposal for a new service. It should outline a service that does not exist, a service that you are envisioning in your own mind. This assignment gives you an opportunity to create something based on what you’ve learned. You may describe a plan for a new service within a real and existing organization – for example, a new clinic that you envision within the actual hospital where you work – but it should not outline a plan that is already underway where you work. It may also outline a plan for something new that stands alone. Be clear in your paper what you are imagining and how it is structured.
• As a plan, this paper should be future-oriented so it should be written in the future tense. It becomes very confusing to read if you describe it in the past or present tense because then I can’t tell if it’s your idea or if it’s part of a real organization or something new, etc.
• If you are describing the manager by name (as suggested in the instructions) then be clear if you see that as you. Again, this becomes very confusing if you pretend you are someone else with a different name.
• In the assignment instructions in the assessment section of the course, you are asked to describe how a leader should respond to a debate about how student nurses should be mentored (Point #8). This scenario fits awkwardly into some papers so you may omit it as long as you do have a section on conflict management. You may create your own scenario if that supports your discussion.
• Please indicate whether your proposed healthcare organization/service will be publicly or privately funded and outline any considerations regarding access that result from your funding model.
• Please write the paper with standard margins 1’

Healthcare organizations are critical in transforming and addressing the health needs of the population. The success of the healthcare facility is realized by establishing an organization that can succeed in an unknown future. Managers and leaders in a health facility are needed to remain committed to establishing facilities that provide quality care to patients. Besides, an effective mission and vision statement would help provide direction that is critical for future growth. Additionally, an effective organizational chart may be critical in determining how all organizational members relate within the healthcare facility. Besides, ideal leadership styles would impact the manager’s effectiveness in influencing the employees to work towards the desired organizational goal.
Healthcare organization
Oceans Nursing Home is a private nursing unit in a large urban hospital and aims to provide acute care for the elderly. The nursing unit is committed to creating and providing an elder-friendly environment for individuals who are seventy years of age and persons with multiple chronic health conditions. It is critical to note that nursing homes have changed significantly, facilitated by government regulations and consumer pressures. Nursing units are highly regulated and sophisticated institutions for care committed to ensuring that older adults with physical, mental, and other conditions receive high-quality care from qualified practitioners. The nursing unit’s mission is to provide the best care for hospitalized older adults and focus on maintaining and improving their physical and cognitive functioning. Further, the vision for Oceans Nursing Home is to expand the geriatrics knowledge base through collaborative research and education and foster the development of care that impacts the cost and quality and promote successful aging. Some of the fundamental benefits patients receive at Oceans Nursing Home include personalized treatment where the patients are attended by their healthcare team, discuss the treatment plan, and monitor and evaluate the patient’s response to care. Additionally, Oceans Nursing Home provides a home-like environment that is warm, peaceful, and provides patients with comfort that makes the facility seem like a home instead of a hospital.
Organizational chart

The administrator in Oceans Nursing Home is responsible for planning, developing, monitoring, and maintaining appropriate standards of care among all interdisciplinary members. Additionally, the administrator is responsible for managing the facility’s day-to-the-day operations and ensures that the nursing units remain on track for their long-term goals (Sweeney Law Firm, 2020).
