In this assignment, students research a specific community. It can be the one in which they work or live, or any defined area, nationally or internationally. The selection of the geographic area should be based on the availability of appropriate data for analysis. For example, in the United States, there is a wealth of data at the county level, but not at the city level.  [Students may use the same geographic area for the Proactive Health Communication Plan.]
For each category below, explore your community and document completion of each task. Documentation can be photographs, bus tickets, receipts, flyers, promotional materials, etc.  Compile your documentation into an electronic format of your choice. Ten points are given for completion and ten points for documentation of each step.

In meeting the objectives of this paper, I choose New York City as my area. New York City remains one of the largest cities in the United States of America. The city is positioned in the southern part of New York State. According to the 2010 census, the population of New York stands at 8, 178, 133, with 3, 885,545 (48.5%) males, and 4,293,589 females (52.6). The white population stands at 3, 657,346 thus accounting for 44.0% of all the people, while the black’s population stands at 2,089.510 thus demarcating a 25.5% of the population (Ammendolia et al, 2016). According to results from the population census, Native Americans and Natives from Alaska also constitute 0.7% of the population, figuring around 57,517, the Asians at 12.6% thus amounting to 1,038,450, while other races represent a 13.0% of the state’s population, hence standing at 1,067,345. It is additionally essential to consider that two other races constitute the population of NY. These races include the Hispanics and the Latino’s who form close to 28.7% of the population, with a figure of 2, 436,078.
I, therefore, took the opportunity to call the Weill Cornell Community Clinic (WCCC), a student-led initiative established to provide high-quality and equitable health care services to the uninsured people living in New York City. According to the HR manager, the medical facility comprehensively offers primary healthcare services that include the treatment of acute and chronic health conditions, preventive therapies, and referrals to affordable and appropriate specialty services (Maciosek et al, 2017). According to the HR manager, the health institution is driven towards extending health access to the underprivileged populations within the community. I additionally visited the health facility and noted in was located in an upscale densely populated neighborhood, with other representative services offered including: vaccines, asthma, colds, ear infections, urinary infections, x-ray and lab services, and stitches.
