Introduction
Marijuana is the combination of shredded leave, flower buds, and stems of the cannabis sativa plant. It is smoked, eaten, brewed and vaporized in all parts of the world. The intoxicating chemical of marijuana is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which affects not only one’s body but also his or her health. In my nursing career, I have encountered various people who smoke marijuana, but the case of a female patient shocked me in a lot of ways. Mrs. Anna was 25 years old, and I was told that she used to smoke marijuana on a regular basis, which had impacted her health to an extent.
Background
It was difficult for me to develop a good relationship with Mrs. Anna because she used t behave strangely. With time, her behavior was becoming more erratic and out of context, and this was a matter of serious concern for me. During my time at the nursing school, I have learned how to deal with patients like this, and when I started my practice, my senior nurses and doctors taught me a lot and helped me understand that people who smoke Kush or marijuana frequently live in isolation. So I was asked to let Mrs. Anna live in an isolated room for some days. At the same time, I had to keep an eye on her activities since she could commit suicide or hurt herself in the absence of the dose.
