Understanding how to adapt and strategize in line with teaching online is essential for today's educators. It allows him to create a practical learning experience and adapt to the number of risks associated with a new teaching medium compared to the traditional classroom setting. In this article, I would like to discuss some of the pedagogical difficulties that high school teachers face in online teaching. Accordingly, the subsequent section would focus on some of the solutions that educators could employ about these problems. All in all, I believe that by having in-depth knowledge about the problems of online teaching, it is possible to devise a strategic plan to mitigate these effects.
Pedagogical Difficulties in Online Teaching
One of the main difficulties in online teaching is the need to provide practical education for children. Since online education is primarily done through modules, most of the discussion revolves around the 'theoretical' application of lectures. However, it could be seen that one of the difficulties for the teachers is to meet the goals of the Ontario Curriculum for Grades 11 and 12 with regards to the requirement of experiential learning for Chemistry CITATION Ont08 \l 1033 (Ontario Ministry of Education, 2008). Chemistry is a subject that requires a balance between theory and application. For the most part, the understanding of scientific concepts requires real-life application, so the educational curricula place importance on experiments. Thus, high school teachers are constrained at providing this balance because of the online teaching mode and are limited to teaching about the theoretical concepts only.
