Summary of Mozart and Political Views in His Music Compositions
Artists have a moral responsibility of educating, informing, and entertaining society. Several artists have taken up their roles, including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He was born on 27th January 1756 alongside six other siblings to Leopold Mozart and Anna Maria in Salzburg in Austria (Williams, 2016). Unfortunately, five of his siblings passed on while they were young, leaving Mozart with an elder sister called Maria Anna Mozart but nicknamed Nannerl (Ross, 2006). Mozart later married Constanze on 4th August 1782.
Mozart was a famous and influential composer who learned the art from his father. With his mentorship's success, Mozart's father supported him throughout his search for a job in Milan. He secured a position in 1973 in Italy as a court musician but later resigned in 1977 and searched for another job in Paris, Mannheim, and Munich. He composed more than six hundred pieces, but the remarkable point in his career was in 1984 when he met Joseph Haydn, who inspired Mozart to compose six quartets that became instrumental to the music sector. The six included K. 387, K. 421, K. 428, K. 458, K. 464, and K. 465 (Goehring). Haydn could not hide his happiness and told Mozart's father, Leopold Mozart, how best his son is in musical composition. The most famous and successful Mozart's work is The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni that successfully premiered in 1986 and 1987. Mozart died on 6th September 1791 after composing The Magic Flute, Clarinet Concerto, a series of string quartets, and the motet Ave verus corpus.
The most successful and internationally recognized out of over six hundred of Mozart's works were The Marriage of Figaro, his 41st symphony, Quintet in A for Clarinet and Strings, K581 Requiem Mass in D, although he died before finishing it up. Mozart was also great at playing the Piano and the Magic Flute, as seen in most of his concerts, especially in Vienna.
In the political sector, Mozart used his artistic talent well to address societal issues. The Marriage of Figaro improved an original version, which was a politically radical composition by Beaumarchais. Mozart's version of the play is more profound than the original as it reveals bitterness, hurt, and pain.
