Attention Getter and Reason to Listen for an Informative Speech

The topic that I am most considering for my infirmative speech is "How Our Brain Functions." Our brains controls so many of our abilities to do things. The Frontal Lobe functions of the brain are self-motivation, attention and concentration, organization, Speaking (motor planning, and initiation,) awareness of abilities and limitations, personality, mental flexibility, inhibition of behavior Emotions, Prolem solving, Planning and anticipation, and judgment.
I think my audiance may want to learn how our brain makes us who we are, how we see beuty, learn from history, desclipline childrenes, remember loved once, react to inequality, conceptualize or envision future events.
Now that you have established your three main points, you can begin working on your introduction and conclusion. In your introduction you should accomplish the following: a) gain the audience’s attention, b) give your audience a reason to listen (also called “audience relevance,” c) establish your credibility as a speaker, and d) preview your ideas/ main points.
1. What is your plan for an attention getter? (Will you start with a quote, a startling statistic, etc?)
2. *How will convince your audience that THEY should be interested in the topic? What will you tell them is their “reason to listen?”
