What criterion did you use to select the course you studied or are pursuing now? Are you passionate about your major or career? Many people are significantly influenced by others when making career choices. They do not prioritize courses that would contribute to changing the world for the better or those that give them the potential to grow and become anything they want. An engineering degree can transform a person’s life and foster career development in business, science, entrepreneurial, mathematics, and technology fields. People should consider getting an engineering degree since it opens many doors in multiple areas that individuals might want to venture into in their future.
An engineering degree changes a person’s thought process, where one acquires critical and logical thinking skills. In particular, engineering courses comprise of numerous mind-opening activities that allow an individual to perceive things in various dimensions (Sola, Hoekstra, Fiore, & McCauley, 2017). In other words, it becomes easy for a person to generate solutions to problems that affect other people in society, which can be capitalized by developing and implementing an effective business idea. An engineering degree improves a person’s decision-making skills. An individual becomes objective or task-oriented such that one can thrive in any professional field. The majority of people do not pursue engineering courses since they believe that one must work in a field related to the course they pursued in college. However, the best thing about getting an engineering degree is that it opens an individual’s mind such that one can work in any field competitively.
Without pursuing an engineering course, one has reduced the chances of changing the world to become a better place. Almost everyone wants to do something that would improve the lives of others.
