History has provided us with very many great individuals, who have changed the course of the world in one way or the other. We stand at a vital juncture in the history of mankind, a point where we look in awe at the works and achievements of the past great people. From this past, it is easy to take a leaf and hence contribute in our own small way towards the same. Among the people most revered in the field of art, is none other than Jonathan Copley. Jonathan Singleton Copley was one of the best Anglo-American artists during the American Revolution War. He was a respected man a talented painter. While he lived at a time of great political and social turmoil, he remains famous for his artistic work rather than political inclination. He was from a loyalist family but remained neutral during the American revolutionary war. This is perhaps what made him so famous and also accepted by various people, as he was not a polarizing figure. He interacted with other artists and remained active in England and colonial America.
Copley came from a humble background his mother owned a tobacco shop. This was a humble, middle-class family, which provided a young Copley with all the good values needed to build a strong and lovable character. He was also self-disciplined, which was a requisite for his humble personality. His environment and upbringing was based on the aspect of a supportive family and neighborhood, where people lived in harmony. It is from this that he also learnt the virtue of helping others, as he came to later help...
