Watching television and listening to music are forms of entertainment that the general population enjoys. Most people nowadays, especially young adults, incorporate music into their daily lives. Many considered music, not just a means of entertainment but a way of connecting to their peers, family, and even strangers who share the same interest or genre of music. The music industry gained thousands of profit, especially if it is promoted on television programs, such as on MTV. However, how did MTV influenced the promotion of music videos in the United States?
Integrating music and video changes, the listener experiences the way music. Several musical short films have appeared way back before the creation of television programs that focuses on music. Before the expansion of MTV, music artists usually perform during local shows or live on national TV programs. Popular bands, such as Beatles and Queen, have created film clips to promote their music. By incorporating visual aspect to music, these gave birth to musicians launching a successful career within the music industry. However, music videos became more popular with the creation of music television, especially when MTV came into prominence. Television was an essential tool of a new dimension that contributed significantly to the profit and trends in the music industry. During the 1980s, music videos began to rise as music became an entertainment language that most youths enjoyed worldwide. To promote music, artists, and albums, and to gain popularity, music videos became the leading platform in showcasing their talents.
