503: Topic Proposal Instructions
Topic: The Social Contract
Instructions: Write a paragraph (7-9 sentences) for your Topic Proposal, identifying an issue or problem within the social contract. This paragraph will serve as the foundation for the remainder of your Research Paper assignment.
***This research paper will: Examine the development of the notion of government by social contract in the writings of Hobbes, Locke and Rousseau. What did Locke find wrong in Hobbes’ account, Rousseau find objectionable in Locke’s theory, and what problems remain in Rousseau’s social contract? Does the notion of government by social contract even make sense, and if so, what is the best social contract that can be achieved?
Thus, again, this topic proposal MUST serve as the foundation of what this research paper will examine.
I will upload four PDF documents (files) in help guide you in this topic proposal on top of the instructions document.source..
