Vientiane is the largest city in Laos. It is the capital city of Laos. The area was initially settled because of the fertility of its plains. Vientiane was made the capital city of Laos in the 16th century. Vientiane city can grow both economically and demographically. The urban center also has a possibility of expanding towards the suburbs along the arterial roads without any infrastructure and this can create a lot of problems like bad living conditions and ineffective social services. To deal with this issue, serious measures must be taken based on an inclusive urban development planning. By 2030 the city should be attractive such that people from other foreign countries can come to visit.
