OVERVIEW
You are required at the end of the semester to submit a Final Project in the form of a formal Training Proposal.
For the Final Project you will be developing a Training Proposal for the company that your work for or a company that you admire. Your data and other information must be based on actual industry information. The importance of industry analysis or research when developing a Training Proposal is key to helping a company obtain its training goals. Information used in conjunction with training helps companies to gain a competitive advantage.
Within your research, you can use data from the corresponding industry overall, or from specific companies within that industry. Please note that the analysis should include a brief background and history of the company along with the SWOT and Needs Analysis.
STRUCTURE
You need to format your final project just as you would format a formal Training Proposal or Business Case for your company. Make sure your Training Proposal is structured the following way (details for each section to follow):
SWOT/ Needs Analysis (no more than one to two pages; must include history/background of the organization and training problem in this section)
Budget (no more than half a page)
Outcomes for training (one to two pages)
Training Outline, Delivery and considerations (one page)
Stake holders and target audience (one page to two pages)
Return on Investment (no more than half a page).

All written commentary should be double-spaced. The paper and sources should be constructed in MLA format. The following section will briefly introduce and describe what should be included in each section of the project, however pay close attention to the grading rubric for all requirements.
SWOT/ Needs Analysis Section
In this section you will need to provide a complete and detailed SWOT analysis for the company of your choice. After the SWOT analysis is complete use this information to determine the training needs analysis for the same company. Make sure to select a small to mid-size company if you are not choosing the company that you work for to analyze. You also will need to describe the background of the organization, as well as describe the origin of the training problem/need that exists.
Budget Section
Conduct research on the cost of developing and implementing a Training Proposal and devise a realistic budget based on your findings. The budget should be an itemized budget outlining costs for training in details. How much will materials cost per person? What are the costs associated with time? Will there be any costs related to facilities? These are all examples of what will need to be addressed in the budget section.
Outcomes for Training Section
Decide realistic training outcomes and document your findings. These outcomes must follow SMART guidelines: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound. At this point you should have gone over and demonstrated the ability to craft objectives in the classroom. Make sure that the outcomes tie into an overall business strategy of the company that you decided on. Decide on the both the short-term and the long-term outcomes for the program. You will need to identify an overall goal/objective for the training, and more specific measurable outcomes for the training program/modules/topics.
Training Outline, Delivery and Consideration Section
In this section, you will need to develop an outline that includes the following:
Description of the training
Course/Class Objectives
Agenda/Timeline
Modules/Topics/Lessons - Lesson objectives, what should be learned, how it will be taught, media used, tools needed, assessment method, duration of the module
Delivery Methods - Delivery methods can include but not limited to the ones covered in the course or methods that you found in your research. If you use outside methods, please make sure to document your findings. Considerations should include tools and resources that will be used for the delivery and implementation of the program. Include materials, technology, instructor costs. If you outsource the program please make sure that you include cost of program, name of vendor and what is offered by the vendor, and how that ties back into the business strategy for training.

Stakeholders and Target Audience Section
Decide who the Training Proposal stakeholders are. In this section you will decide who will be included in the training model (i.e. Senior Leadership, HR, Technology, Managers, Trainers and Trainees). Select who your target audience is (Leadership, New Hires, Current Employees)
Return on Investment Section
Take an overall look at the Return on Investment for the Training Proposal to substantiate the program success and document. You can use the formulas for calculating ROI covered in class. Describe your findings and what the data implicates.
Presentation
The creation of a PowerPoint Presentation of your Training Proposal. This will be uploaded and shared with the class, so you can see what you all worked on. The presentation should provide a brief summary of the proposal, how you feel the proposal will benefit the organization, and what you thought about the process of development overall. You must be in the video so that we can see you presenting your presentation. This is worth 50 points. The video presentation should be between 5 and 8 minutes. Remember you have to be visible in the video.
