Despite increased research work in improving healthcare, the adoption of these practices has been haphazard. In line with this, groups such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have advocated for increased attention in how researchers disseminate their research. Dissemination of nursing knowledge is critical in advancing the practice and contributing significantly to academics, interdisciplinary sector, policy making, and public knowledge. The intent of this paper is to provide a dissemination plan for research conducted on the management of Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). The problem in the management of CHF is the inability to comply with the recommended directions. Resultantly, there is a tendency among CHF patients not to follow the prescriptions in using medication. The situation is aggravated by the lack of sufficient evidence-based interventions within these patients to promote adherence among patients. Fundamentally, the patients must assume the passive role in their treatment (Li, Morrow-Howell, & Proctor, 2004). From this perspective, this dissemination plan should target some stakeholders.
The information presented in the research is essential to people in the medical profession, pharmacies, and the general public. Professionals administering CHF need to understand the evidence-based implications of taking CHF medication. With this information, they can be able to make follow ups and ensure that patients use medicine appropriately. Creating awareness in the general public is essential to bring to light that people should observe and ensure that their friends and family take medication as prescribed by the physician.
There are various means that can be employed in disseminating the research. First, is presenting a publication, and engaging in conferences. The approaches are important in communicating the findings to the people who participated in the research. In this context, the research assistants and subjects involved in the study, as well as interested parties will get an opportunity to understand and inquire about the findings in the research (Flay et al., 2005). Fundamentally, offering this kind of feedback plays a critical role in advocacy programs since the people involved have a background knowledge about the research. It also shows appreciations for the valuable contribution in the research as instructors, supervisors, assistance, or even the study subject.
For this study, the participants and instructions involved will be allowed to see the final copies of the research. For individual participants, they will be sent a copy of the executive summary of the report. In some instances, they will be met individually to discuss the results and offer the appropriate recommendations.
