Special Decision #3 - Sexual Harassment
Your team needs to submit a 1-page report indicating your team s response to the critical incident AND explaining your team's rationale for your decision with regards to the critical incident. The critical incident reports should be typed using Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1" margins and maximum of one page in length (works cited can be a separate page).
Grading rubric:
Formatting - 0-1 points (see above)
Decision - 0-2 points - Clearly indicated, discussed relative merits of the decision
Support - 0-2 points - Evidence and examples from class or outside sources to demonstrate why there are strengths or weaknesses, discussion of best practices **AI1 sources must be cited - If the idea isn't yours, give credit to the owner. Rule of thumb - if something isn't common knowledge, it should be cited.

Sexual harassment is a scourge that leaves the victim helpless. People often talk about the physical impact the victims suffer, but few mention the emotional or mental effects of sexual harassment. When it comes to actions victims ought to take, reporting to higher authorities is often considered appropriate. However, what people fail to realize is that this leaves the victim in a state of powerlessness. When someone else takes charge of the issue, the case could be solved, but this does not mend the mental state of the victim.
With regard to the above, our team believes that the action taken against sexual harassment needs to focus on empowering the victims. Informing people about sexual harassment and giving them options for responding is one way of empowering them. Our team believes victims ought to be encouraged to speak out and stand up to the harassers. One way this can happen is by use of “strong body language” as well...
