There are so many recommendations towards addressing the issue of obese children extending to taking them away from their parents and placing them in foster homes as this would save their lives. Fining parents whose children are obese might make them to be more careful on how their children feed to avoid paying fines. Imposing a health insurance is another recommendation towards fighting the problem. Mandatory nutritional class for caregivers and parents
Caregivers and parents are supposed to attend nutritional classes in order to understand and play their role well in their children’s attitudes and habits about health, physical activity as well as nutrition.
Education on nutrition for K-12
Nutritional education should be integrated in the education curriculum as early as from primary level to ensure that there is full understanding of the basic principles. This works towards making it every person’s responsibility of ensuring good health. Parents are then left with an easier task as children understand what proper nutrition entails.
