Mostly, people would go unaware of the various events that are happening locally and globally if they have no access to news. News as a great tool of information sharing plays a vital role in human aspects such as education, technology, growth, and development (Brian, 67). However, different events that happen have unequal impacts on different individuals in the community. As a result, the newsare organized and content tailored to specific age groups (Brian, 58). For instance, the newspapers usually have their pages divided into different sections such as politics, breaking news, lifestyle,and sports. Moreover, the steady improvements in technology and access to information have transformed the quality, structure, design, and aesthetics of the news platforms (Michael, 50). Even though the key role of articles to enlighten society remains unchanged, in my view, the structures and formats of the modern article are of different comparisons. The structure of news has drastically changed since the invention of the inverted pyramid version of newscast reporting. This model assumes that the most important information should be ranked on the top. The information is categorized to answer the question of who, when, what followed by supporting details, background details, and the general details respectively (Michael, 50). However, since the inception of this model, perceptionand implementation have been exercised at different levels (Skinner, 338). For instance, comparisons of “Death and Havoc Follow Explosion” published in 1990 and “Antisocial networking” published 2010 by the New York Times, clearly shows how compositions have greatly changed over the years. First, the gradual change in the textual structure is a notable feature in the modern papers. Textual approach emphasis on the text and style of words representation. To illustrate, the headline, byline and lead statement in the introductory part have evolved from wordy, misleading and illogical statement to compelling, clear and concise ones (Skinner, 337). Commonly, brief statements are easy to read and understand hence, attracts the audience to the essence of the story as compared to the wordy declarations.
