Literature Review: Internal Anatomy and Microstructure of Fins
Anatomy is the study of how an organism is structured. Different fishes have diverse forms and structures. Most of them have certain modifications that allow them to thrive in specific environments or particular conditions of the same environment. While the external anatomy of fish fins reveals much, the internal anatomy and microstructure can reveal the fins' unique traits and how they are adapted to particular conditions. From the external perspective, the fins are appendages that fish use to maintain balance, steer themselves forward, and stop. There are different types of fins, including dorsal fins, caudal fins, anal fins, pectoral fins, and pelvic fins. Some types of fish have specific types of fins that are adapted to their lifestyle and habitat.
