I-10/Mesquite and Vado Interchange
New Mexico Department of Transportation is undertaking a major project in District 1. This is a project that involves the replacement of the steel girder bridges with concrete bridge. The concrete bridge will have full height abutments artwork that will feature some local southwestern theme and precast concrete deck panels.
The project is expected to make some major changes to the existing bridge. There will be some major changes on the ramps to take on a diamond interchange. This will be after the removal of the loop ramps that are existing on the current bridge. The element of reconfiguration will bring about the provision of acceleration lanes that are much longer which will be on I-10.
To help the drivers to better make use of the interchange, the project will incorporate the use signals that will be placed strategically where all the drivers can see them. This is a crucial part of the project in light of enhancing the safety of the interchange.
