Research Paper Instructions:

Use at least three sources from the library databases.  DO NOT RELY ON GOOGLE OR WIKIPEDIA.  This is to be a persuasive essay.  Your goal is to persuade the reader that you have considered alternatives, and your career choice is the right one for you.  As always, you MUST have a thesis statement, which gives focus to the paper.  Your introductory paragraph should state your thesis clearly, and each body paragraph should elaborate on and support that thesis, using specific details and examples from your sources. The conclusion should make evident how you proved your thesis.  The paper should contain at least three quotations.  You must have a Works Cited page that uses MLA format.  As always, you must upload the file to Turnitin via blackboard.com using Chrome.

Social Media Analyst: My Future Career
1. Introduction
Typically, going to college is, or should be, one phase of career planning. That is why, I have started career planning early. I have chosen my major having a more or less clear idea of my future career plans. Having been at college for a while and gained many academic and social experiences, I have come to understand more clearly my career choices. Initially, I have always contemplated a career in IT industry. Typically classified as a Millennial, I fall perfectly well into a category expected to dominate job market in a few years. In recent months, following extensive research, self-education and ad hoc mentoring, I have come to realize my future career should not only be in IT. Indeed, I have come to identify Social Media Analyst (SMA) as my job of choice in upcoming years. Emerging as one of most engaging jobs in current job market and in years to come, SMA is a job area in which I will be able to match my interests, work/life balance, flexibility against job requirements, enumeration package and future development opportunities. 2. Interests, Work/Life Balance, Commutation and Location
I am a communication-oriented person. As such, jobs requiring communication skills are a best match for me. I have also developed deep interest in web applications, social media platforms and mobile features. This interest, coupled by what I have come to learn about SMA and as shown in next section, meshes perfectly well with a flexible work/life arrangement I plan

and hope for. Having a potential to work from anywhere, or at least flexibly for agreed-on
working hours, SMA is a job saving much concern about shuttling back and forth between home
and workplace. The current COVID-19 crisis is, perhaps, an ideal example of at-home and
remote work for almost about everyone. For an SMA, such work arrangements are a norm, not
an exception. By meeting my personal interests, achieving a work/life balance and, not least,
slashing out costs and time for commuting, an SMA job role is one I am increasingly confident I
am not only going to pursue but, more important, to develop for professionally over long run.
3. Job Profile, Work Environment, Enumeration & Future Professional Development
This is a relatively new job role. In contrast to more established jobs, e.g. IT Associate, SMA is emerging in role and status in current job market. Specifically, an SMA is, generally, expected to “gather data to formulate and execute methods of brand maintenance across the wide variety of social media platforms” (“Average Social Media Analyst Salary”). This is, of course, far from an exhaustive description. Indeed, SMA role is expanding across and beyond industries in numerous, interesting ways. For example, whilst most commonly hired to perform marketing communications and brand management duties, an SMA is also hired to increase sales, identify business opportunities, perform PR functions, and more.
The work environment for an SMA varies, moreover, from one...
