United States is known to have different ethnicity since the majority of its population originates from Europe. It is believed that the largest groups can have the primary ancestry traceable to the United Kingdom, Ireland as well as German. America has multiple ancestries which comprises of major and minor groups. The minority groups include the black Americans of US, African, Filipinos, Japanese, and Mexicans, Chinese as well as other Spanish native people of the Americans. The paper seeks to look at the two ethnic groups in America, how their social, political, racial discrimination was, and as well have a look at how they contributed to make America what it is today (Dorothea &Gordon 2006).
In this paper, we will have a look at Japan and Asia as the two ethnic groups and look at how they related to each other as well their contribution to making the modern United States. The ethnicity of Japan as well as that of Asia can be traced back in the World War II. Back in1835, the American settlers established the sugar plantation in Hawaii, and this was an independent dominion. The American could not handle the situation on their own and therefore they decided to have a means of how they could solve the predicaments.
The sugar plantation demanded large number of workers in order to cultivate and harvest the cane fields as well as operating the refineries. During the genesis of the year 1852, the owners of the plantations decided to import Chinese laborers which this process resembled the African slave trade. The Chinese laborers worked in the sugar plantation but later in 1865, several Chinese were leaving the plantation for other jobs. From then, the plantation was lefty with no workers and therefore several measures were implemented (Harry,1987).
Hawaii foreign minister who was also a sugar planter wrote to American businessman in Japan seeking for Japan agriculture workers. A group of a hundred and forty eight people were brought including men, women and children and they signed a cont4ract where some of them were not able to complete their three years contract and they decided to do back to Japan. The plantation labor was unsympathetic, less remuneration and hard working days, which also made them to breach the contract just like the Chinese.
In 1869, the Pacific mail company`s China brought a party of samurai where they included famers, tradesmen as well as women to Francisco. It was believed that the Japanese were displaced from their homes during the finale of the Tokugawa shogun ate and the re-establishment of the Meiji emperor. During this era, followers of lord Matusudaria established a 600-acre of tea and silk farm. Unfortunately, this did not do well as the plantation decomposed in the dry California soil.
