The Death of Martin Luther King, Jr., its Implications, and Variation
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent of the things that matter.”
Introduction
The variance and chasm of generations will never hinder the evocative and anamnestic reflection and forbearing of “I have a Dream.” This created a great impact not only on the lives of the aggrieved and discriminated but more importantly in the lives of the persons in positions, persons living beyond their means, and persons with power. This likewise paves the way to the appreciation and review of the rights of every individual discriminated owing to their color and race. The learning that “the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy” was truly tested.

The day when a distinct and historical death that leaves an anamnesis where many know explicitly what they are doing and who they were with when the broadcast of his death broke (Roberson 2010).
Innumerable and legion were moved by his words causing congregation and communities to rally for the civil rights that he advocated. This is not solely rooted from his being a powerful orator but also owing for the rights that he pleaded for. Had he not died on that fateful day, he could have become someone even more powerful advocating not only for the civil rights of his community but the rights of many discriminated race in the whole world (Roberson 2010).
For the civil rights leaders, like Heather Booth, MLK’s death, a fissure within them was brought into existence— “It was like the breaking of a dream, the breaking of our hopes.” At the age of 39, so many things he could have been co...
