The Future of North America
North America has shown tremendous changes in the recent past. Such changes are expected to continue taking place thus raising various issues. If not addressed, then such issues would be a big cause of problems for the people living in the area.
Environmental issues
The natural habitats of wild animals are being degraded a people cut down trees to build settlements that are made to accommodate the growing population. This risks the extinction of certain wild animals and plants. In addition, the changes in climatic changes leading to global warming might lead to loss of cost lines. The ice polar is melting hence leading to an increase in the sea levels. If something is not done to curb global warming, then coastal cities have an increased risk of facing hurricanes, floods, and storms. This is life-threatening for the individuals who will be living in such cities.
Demography and population
Low birth and death rates characterize the population of North America. Therefore, in the future, there will be a few young people left to take care of the growing population of the elderly. This will call for a restricting in the manner in which the elderly are taken care of financially. As well, demography will also be affected by the fact that the young are attracted by the cities in search for job opportunities. The elderly migrate at their own will. Hence, the rural areas will have a higher ratio of the elderly as compared to the young who will have moved to the large metropolitans (Drucker 2017). It will be difficult to distribute resources to the sparse communities which are increasing at a very high rate. Also, the young will have to work harder as compared to the current situation in order to take care of the elderly. The general impact is that people have to die during their old age and thus, there will be a drastic population decrease in the future. It might come a time whereby people will be paid to give birth to compensate for the decreasing population.
Culture, Race, and ethnicity
North America was among the areas affected most by slave trend hence leading to African Americans living among them. The African Americans have different cultures as compared to those of the Native Americans. Some North Americans have shown some level of discrimination and failure to accept African Americans as part of their families or close friends. This is common among the elderly who are still connected with the culture of the colonial era. Therefore, given the fact that technological advancements allow people to communicate with one another regardless of their geographical locations, then the ethnic and cultural differences will continue to evolve. Also, people are intermarrying with different cultures, and this might lead to a nation that is characterized by a high number of mixed races.
Economic issues
