Research question:
I am studying Chinese social media called TikTok because I want to find out what is the negative effect TikTok bring to Chinese society so that my reader understands What influence does TikTok have on millennials.
Reason:
The reason I interest in doing this topic is that more and more young people included some friends around me are so addictive to TikTok, and they spend lots of time on this social media. What’s more? Many internet celebrities on TikTok have lots of followers, and these internet celebrities consistently display their expensive new clothes, new cars, and new bags to show off their wealth. This leads more and more Chinese young people to long for buying luxury stuff. Also, to catch audiences’ attention, people on TikTok will do some extreme things, such as hurt themselves or cruelty to animals. This really brings a negative effect on young audiences. I will use many website sources or newspapers resource because TikTok is a relatively new topic, and many of traditional sources are still unavailable, and also these two sources are very updated resources, and this can help me to analysis the current situation.

Tiktok is a Chinese short-form video app which has been gaining momentum globally for the last few years. According to research by Sensor Tower, a mobile research company, the app has been downloaded almost 800 times all over the world. Those figures do not include Android users in China. Tiktok users share short videos of themselves lip-syncing, dancing, cooking or performing usual tasks such as brushing their teeth (Anderson et al.). Those videos, which over and over again have some music in the background, can be edited, slowed down or sped up with a filter. Just like in Instagram, TikTok users can “heart” and follow others or leave some comments on the uploaded videos. Social media celebrities, as well as influencers, have started to join the app. The app was launched in 2016. in addition. It has been downloaded more than 50 % than other social media platform such as Facebook and integral. TikTok lately teamed up with fashion trademark Guess on a denim promotion to target Millennials as well as Generation Z.

TikTok sincely, companies should have interests that the TikTok should use TikTok in order to address the issue. So as to have increased profits , it is imperious that the firms should recognize how this generation looks to TikTok for information as well as feedback. It is not much advertising plus promotion that creates a difference. As an alternative, this group values peer advice, as well as sincerity. This paper intends to address the issue of how young people are are addressing the issue of being online on this platform.
Influence on Young People
It is now easier to access the internet than ever before. This easily makes some users to misuse the technology provided. Also, the platform is an easy way for staying up to date with what our friends are doing. There are a lot of good things that come along with this platform. For many individuals in this group, TikTok is used as an outlet for opinions that they can share with their friends. As we grow, it is significant to recognize who we are and what we want to do with our lives. We can easily find out this through this platform (Boyd, p224). TikTok helps users to connect with other individuals not only locally, but also in international levels.
TikTok is redefining how the art world conducts its activities. For the past few years, over 80 % of all Millennials art buyers bought fine art through the internet. The platform is sailing its way through the world of art not only in making selling to become easier but also sidestepping galleries. Previously, artists did not have the power to have a conversation directly with their client. However, this has been made possible by TikTok, and I do not think this will change in the future (Anderson et al.). Artists no longer have to worry when it comes to funding their vision art ventures—all thanks to this platform. With zealous TikTok followers at the ready, an artist can share a link on their page and receive donations from fans as well as from strangers. The traditional art world is changing due to emerging technology, and I believe this is for the better. Artists should embrace the platform as a new marketing tool in order to access as many audiences as possible and also for increasing sales. In our fast developing setting of social media, TikTok is one of the channels where audiences can meet with dance professionals and make important connections. It has created bridges in addition to making it possible for users to find innovative ways to influence as well as communicate.
