Introduction
Starbucks Corporation (STBX) is a coffee company serving the globe in diversified coffeehouse chains. It has been noted that the company is the largest in the world with the brand operating in more than sixty two countries (Nash par. 2). Dunkin’ Donuts (DD) is a competitor company to Starbucks Corporation; the two companies serve the globe. Dunkin’ Donuts particularly is a doughnut company with chains of coffeehouses ("Dunkin' Donuts, America Runs on Dunkin" 30).
Main Body
Starbucks brand targets the consumers of cold and hot beverages, snacks, whole bean coffee, full leaf teas, micro ground instant coffee, packaged foods, sandwiches, tumblers, mugs and pastries. It has been noted that Starbucks outlets also targets evening locations offering wines, beers and small bites (Barth par. 6). Starbucks has diversified its brand to incorporate entertainment; this is effected through the ‘Hear Music’ brand that targets films, music and books (Schultz and Yang 201). Each and every outlet is accustomed to the specific or seasonal nature of the target market. The recent competition has resulted to the company closuring a number of unprofitable stores.
