Introduction
Job discrimination refers to making a decision towards an employee or a job applicant since they are members of a certain group. There are various factors that can be used to discriminate against someone in an organization. Such factors include race, gender, physical disability, and many other factors. The people can be discriminated against on the basis of personal prejudice or various stereotypes in an organization. One of the most common forms of discrimination in an organization is on the basis of religion, caste, gender, and national origin.
Background
Job discrimination is one of the biggest issues in various organizations and at each of the turns of the century, there are new aspects that are added to job discrimination and this changes its definition. Job discrimination began during the industrial revolution and it was manifested in the various ways where discrimination was based on gender and women were prohibited from carrying out various tasks. Surprisingly, the same incidences are observed in the 21st century where various business organizations have been accused of discriminating among women.
