Abstract
  Currently, bioreactors use a limited amount of design because of the available material and expertise in the market. There are several requirements and designs that have to be followed for a bioreactor to be effective. A bioreactor must have a head plate that is of high quality for the machine to work properly. The head plate is used to cover the vessel, and it can be made from different materials depending on the bio reactor's use. The other design structure is the air sparger tasked with ensuring sufficient air is getting into the bioreactor. The impaler is another essential component that is found in the bioreactors. There are different types of impalers, and their function is to mix the various products in the machine. Other components are the sampling port that makes it easier for the device users to take samples from time to time. It is essential to understand the process's various stages to ensure that whatever is being made meets the requirements needed (Campsie et al., 2019). The shaft and the shaft seal are other components of the bioreactor design. The shaft and the shaft seal makes sure the microorganism that is not required do not get into the container. It is also critical to have an oxygen probe that allows oxygen in the bioreactor. Finally, the designers have to make sure they have an inlet for the temperature probe, which is used to ensure the temperature is neither too high nor too low (Campsie et al., 2019). The failure to have any of the components in the bioreactor will lead to a production of a poor quality product. There can also be accidents if the bio rectors do not have all the components.
Although there are effective designs, there is still scope for scientists to develop bioreactors that are more efficient and cheaper than the current prototypes.
